DPF Services

So You Can Stay on the Road

Diesel Particulate Filter Services

Diesel engines burn fuel differently than conventional engines and produce excessive amounts of soot. A diesel particulate filter (DPF) helps to capture and store this excess soot. Many refer to this as a soot trap. This helps with emissions from diesel engines. Unfortunately, they only have a finite capacity. This trapped soot periodically has to be emptied or burned off to regenerate the DPF. If the DPF is becoming clogged with soot or a fault develops in the system, a light will typically appear on the dashboard. If this happens, contact Peake DPF Services today.

Is the light on your dashboard on?

Peake DPF Services is here for all of your diesel particulate filter and diesel oxidation catalysts needs. Our mechanics thorough standard operating procedures with top-of-the-line equipment. It’s our mission to get you back on the road.

Our Equipment

FSX designs and manufactures a complete line of diesel particulate filter (DPF) cleaning equipment using state-of-the-art technology. These machines are extremely effective at cleaning DPFs, DOCs (Diesel Oxidation Catalysts), and SCRs (Selective Reduction Catalytics). This is the same time-tested DPF cleaning machines used in our facilities that have successfully cleaned thousands of filters for clients worldwide.

Stage 1: Pneumatic DPF Cleaner

FSX TrapBlaster - DPF Services

We use the TrapBlaster™ because of its patented technology to clean filters significantly better than other technology out there today.

Bi-directional Scanning Air Knives – FSX has patented bi-directional air scanning technology that helps prolong the life of the DPF.

Visible Cleaning Process – Because every DPF is different. This cleaning system allows us to visually see when cleaning is complete.

Each Cell Cleaned – With extreme airflow and high pressure, the TrapBlaster cleans each and every cell individually.

Fully Adjustable – This allows us to custom clean with adjustable nozzles that allow access to hard to reach flanges and recessed cavities.

Stage 2: Thermal DPF Regenerator

FSX TrapBurner - DPF Services

The TrapBurner™ uses ambient air while heating. It is carefully programmed to deliver just the right amount of heat. No air being pumped through the filter reduces the risk of cracking the filter or causing thermal stress.

Effective Overall Cleaning – Due to our pneumatic cleaning program’s effectiveness, only 1 out of 8 filters require a thermal regeneration to burn off any remaining soot deeply set in the ceramic cell walls. 100% of soot is burned off during the thermal regeneration in the TrapBlaster.

OEM Specified Controlled Regeneration – Stair-step temperature gradient matches OEM specifications.

Advanced Safety Features – This comes with an automatic stop if the temperature gets too high and ambient air to avoid thermal spikes.

FSX TrapTester Air Flow Test Bench

FSX TrapTester

The TrapTester is the only industry standard airflow test bench to evaluate DPF flow restriction accurately. It mimicks the airflow of a heavy-duty diesel engine and certifies the success of the cleaning. It also identifies filters that require thermal thorough cleaning in the TrapBurner.

Accurate Testing – This is calibrated specifically for measuring the success in the cleanliness of the DPF. It is also used to measure filter performance, identify defective filters and screen inlet, and exhaust for safety.

Fits Most Filters – This will handle filters 9″ in diameter and larger. However, it does have adapter plates for smaller filters if necessary.

FSX SootSucker Dust Collector

FSX SootSucker

This is a powerful dust collector specifically designed to capture soot and ash released from DPFs and DOCs during cleaning in the FSX TrapBlaster.

Two-Stage Filtration – The SootSucker has a two-stage cleaning process that includes primary filter and HEPA. It eliminates fugitive particulate and keeps the dust out of the air.

Self Cleaning – It is designed to capture the soot and ash into the bottom of the quick release bucket. It includes pulse cleaning to clean out ash from the primary filter.
